Doing Photoshoots the right way
When Joe was about 10 months, Walmart had a nice offer for Christmas. You pay about 160$ and in return every month for a year you get a free photoshoot and some pictures. We signed up for it and made an appointment every month. It was really nice to see how Joe was changing so fast. On the August session, we were asked to pay 10$ for the session excluding the photo prices. When we showed the employee the card for the offer she said it was canceled and that Walmart does not want to honor it. It was very upsetting but there was not much we can do about.
After Bill was born we thought it is only fair to do some photoshoots for him as well. So we have been taking him every month since December. Everything was smooth and the pictures were nice. Then Bill started walking!
The plan was photos for Joe on his own then Bill on his own and finally both of them together. Joe was feeling sick. He had a virus and was throwing up everything he ate or drank. He started taking pictures. He is very cute when you ask him to smile. He does this little wink with a crooked smile. He does not know how to smile on demand. His part went smooth and looked good. It was Bill's turn. He would not stay in his spot at all. He kept running away. She barely took any pictures. If he wasn't walking fast he was crawling away while looking down. He did a great job avoiding the camera. We gave up on Bill getting some good shots.
It was time for them to take photos together. I don't know when or how but I know that I looked at Bill and he had one shoe off. When we sat him down he started eating his shoelace. Most of his photos are him snacking on his shoelace. Eventually, we got Bill to sit and smile with one shoe. At this point, Joe got tired and refused to smile. Every time I ask him to smile he would say I can't I am sick.
After an hour of running around to get them to stay still, the photos included:
- Bill smiling while Joe looks sad
- Joe smiling while Bill is eating his shoe
- Them fighting
- A family photo while me trying to make Joe smile and Abe trying to get Bill to sit still
I wonder what the next session will bring! Any tips or advice on how to make them sit still?
